Sue Rossiter : Hand to Hand
11 June – 30 July 2016
Honouring North Devon’s glove workers
An innovative exhibition valuing North Devon’s rich glove making heritage, a world centre in the 19th and early 20th Century, now in danger of being forgotten with closure of local factories.
Sue’s strong ceramic forms combine stitch-like mark-making, leather-like surface qualities and colours developed from local earth pigments, inspired by historical records from the former Pilton Glove Factory and the machinery and equipment of the period.
White Moose would like to thank The Old Glove Factory Development Ltd, Mazzard Investments Limited and the below organisations for their support.
