Duncan Hopkins

Duncan's drawings and paintings of the sea and water are produced through a combination of observation and improvisation. He observes the fractal, chaotic structures and wave patterns of the sea, a constantly changing substance. He is particularly interested in the effects of energy, scale, light and shadow in his work. Duncan works in oil on canvas, pastels on paper and pencil and charcoal on paper to capture these effects.
