Susan Plummer, Bideford Black and Water, 2013

The following quote has been Sue’s guide for the last couple of years.

Attempt what is not certain. Certainty may or may not come later. It may then be a valuable delusion.

Richard Diebenkorn.

Sue works using a variety of media including charcoal, pencil, oil, acrylic and found objects. Her work does not seek to represent a place or time but rather to express ‘otherness’, that elusive, impossible quality that everything, every moment, everybody is imbued with. Drawing is the bedrock of these explorations sometimes using the ‘transformative’ medium of video. Sue picks up, collects information, objects and memories to construct, to process, to recycle and generate new life and new perspectives.

Susan Plummer has a degree in Fine Art from Plymouth University.
