Sophie Mason

Sophie Mason is an artist and urban grower dedicated to exploring creativity and nature in the urban environment. Through art, gardening and teaching she fosters connections of care between the self, the natural world and each other. Since completing a Masters in Fine Art Sophie has worked in collaboration and built on her solo practice, combining performance, installation, sculpture and drawing; to explore these themes. Play, humour and the vernacular are central to her aesthetic and process.

Sophie Mason worked together with Simon Brown and Willis Newson to design and create an outdoor roof garden for the new Dolphin primary school in Bristol, as part of the Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World’s Soil Culture project. Sophie’s drawing was exhibited at White Moose as part of Soil Culture : Young Shoots exhibition from 16 April – 4 June 2016.
