Giacomo Brunelli, Untitled Shadow, 2013Giacomo is an Italian photographer who has exhibited extensively with shows in London, Paris, Hamburg, Athens, Boston and Milan. He has won the Sony World Photography award, the Gran Prix Lodz, Poland and the Magenta Foundation “Flash Forward”  award and has featured widely in the art and photography press. His work is at the collection of Museum of Fine Arts Houston, The New Art Gallery Walsall, UK Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts and Portland Art Museum. In 2012, he was commissioned by The Photographers’ Gallery to do a project on London. The works shown in Masquerade are his Shadow Self-Portrait Series. To produce these photographs he shoots himself naked with an antique 1960’s camera on traditional film to obtain his rich, multilayered black and white images.
