4 April – 7 June 2015
Various printmaking techniques on show will include wood engraving; collagraph; etching; drypoint; wood and lino cuts.
The following events are part of ND ArtTrek open studios event.
ARTIST TALK : Anita Reynolds : Wednesday 3 June 2015, £5 per person, drinks by donation
As part of our Five Women Printmakers exhibition, Anita Reynolds will be giving a talk about her journey to creating her stunning body of prints for this exhibition.
Anita’s work was inspired by walking the 630 mile South West Coast Path, which runs from Minehead to Poole, over the last three years. For each of the 56 days taken to complete the walk, she created an edition of 10 prints, as part of a project titled ‘Outline South West’ – some of these prints are exhibited in this exhibition.
MEET THE ARTIST : Catherine Cartwright : Sunday 7 June 2015, 11 am – 5 pm
On the final day of ND ArtTrek 2015, we will have Catherine Cartwright – director of Double Elephant Print Workshop, Exeter, will be here in the gallery to talk informally with you about her work, over a cup of tea.
Following Catherine’s artist residency with the Exeter Women’s Refuge – now closed, her work was inspired by this project and explores bird iconography around the issues of containment and freedom.
