Age of Panic

Age of Panic is an exhibition by Marcus Lanyon due to debut at White Moose soon (date to be confirmed), before touring to several other galleries in the South West and Griffin Gallery, London.

The exhibition takes contemporary social anxiety as its overarching theme and explores notions and concepts of the apocalypse and the cultural panic that supports and feeds such fixations. As part of this touring exhibition, Marcus will hold a series of talks and workshops that engage with a younger audience, focusing on the practical and personal issues surrounding developing a career as a full-time artist post study.

Marcus’ work is a seductively, disquieting observation of instinctive, cultured and imagined narratives. He works in a variety of media from drawing, painting, print making and ceramics to create individual art works and installations.  After graduating from the Royal College of Art, Lanyon was selected as one of the inaugural Saatchi Gallery & Channel 4’s ‘4 New Sensations’. His work is also included in the Zabludowicz Collection.
